Western Region (Hijaz)
Quraysh Tribe
The Quraysh tribe is historically significant as it was the tribe of the Prophet Muhammad. They were known for their dominance in trade and their influential role in the development of Mecca as a major religious and commercial center. The Quraysh tribe is composed of several sub-clans, including the Banu Hashim, from which the Prophet Muhammad hailed. Primarily located in Mecca and its surroundings.
Juhayna Tribe
The Juhayna tribe is one of the oldest Arab tribes in the Hijaz region. They have historically been engaged in trade and fishing, benefiting from their coastal location. Juhayna played a significant role in early Islamic history, providing support to the Prophet Muhammad during his migration to Medina. Primarily located in coastal areas near the Red Sea, including Medina.
Banu Harb
The Banu Harb tribe is a large and influential tribe in the Hijaz region. They have traditionally been involved in agriculture and trade. The tribe has a rich cultural heritage and has been known for their hospitality and strong social ties. The Banu Harb tribe has also contributed significantly to the defense and expansion of early Islamic territories. Located mainly in the areas between Mecca and Medina.
